I have been on the run!

I have been on the go this summer.

First, I finally went to Europe. Paris, Amsterdam, and London were all new experiences for me. After two weeks in Europe, I came back home to the states. I took a few weeks off from traveling and got ready for my next adventure, New Orleans! But, before I go there I had to make a quick stop at the Hollywood Bowl. The Playboy Jazz Festival was happening and my main man Gregory Porter was performing. I couldn’t miss that.

New Orleans was a blast! My good friend Quin came along for the ride with Gina and me. He had never been to the city that I love. We showed him around and had a blast while doing it. New Orleans never disappoints and I look forward to going every year.

After 10 days in NOLA, I came back home to California.

I then bought a plane ticket to New York. A friend of mine was shooting his first movie and I offered to give him a hand. So, back on a plane I went and landed at JFK. The movie was shot in the Bronx and Harlem. The heat and humidity were off the charts on this visit to the Big Apple. But, after a couple of days, I was off to the ATL!

My friend Quin was down in the ATL so I went there before going home. I thought the humidity was bad in the North East but the Dirty South showed me something much stronger and meaner! But, I had a ton of fun. Magic City was everything I thought it was going to be and more. But, I had to get back home because I had other places to be.

As soon as I landed back in California I had to pack my bags again because this time I was heading to Napa! In all the years I have lived in California I had never been to Napa. But, this trip to Nappy Valley as Dave Chappelle called it was worth the visit. Gina and I went to the Blue Note Jazz Festival featuring Robert Glasper, Yasin Bey aka Mos Def, Talib Kweli, D Smoke, BJ the Chicago Kid, Snoop Dogg, Maxwell, Corrine Bailey Rae, Goapele, Chaka, Madlib, Christian Scott, and a ton of other great Jazz and R&B musicians. Also, it was hosted by Dave Chappelle. He never disappoints and will always find humor in something as simple as a beach guitar riff.

Yeah… I have been on the run!

Write it down. Take a picture. I don't give a f*ck!
